Introduction:

In this oportunity you will enjoy the rivers that crossing the department of cusco such as the Urubamba and the Apurimac river where the unique requirement is to love the river and the adventure. A day of rafting will teach you some basic techniques, show you some nice scenery near Cusco, and give you a wet, thrilling ride

 

ITINERARY


Day 1: Cusco / Urubamba / Cusco

At 9:00 AM we leave for the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (north of Cusco), where our guide will give us an introductory chat on safety and equipment for our trip running the Urubamba. We will raft for around 2 hours in Class II,III.IV+ and V rapids, depending on which route we select.

  •  Meals provided: Lunch (Meat, salad, sodas, tea, coffee, dessert, fruits)
  •  Estimated rafting time: 2 hours

Class II: Ollantaytambo
Class III: (We run it from May to December), Quiquijana
Class IV and V: (Dec to May). For the last one, which is the hardest,
 

* Departure and arrival times are approximated.

* we always take a safety kayak with us, so it means one extra guide for the safety of our clients.

* The rainy season is a really good time to go rafting because the river gets faster and the waves and other hydraulics are larger. The rainy season lasts from December to April

What is included:


  •  Private Round Trip Transportation.
  •  Professional English speaking guides, paramedics qualified for Class V rafting
  •  Full Rafting equipment (helmet, life jacket, raincoat, paddle, wetsuit, Hyside Self Bailer Boats)
  •  First aid kit.

What you need to bring/carry:

  •  Bathing suit
  •  Towel
  •  Sandals or running shoes
  •  Shorts (to use over the wetsuit)
  •  Hat, sun block
  •  Camera
     

NOTE: The rapids are categorized as follows:

 Difficulty I-II:

Easy safe, something exciting.

Difficulty III-IV:

Good and exciting, with some risk.

 Difficulty V:

Very exciting and risky, additional vessel is needed security can be a kayak or boat, is the highest level that can be done with tourists.

Difficulty VI:

Extreme risk, you can do rafting.
