Huchuyqosqo is an awesome Pre-Spanish monument, located in the top of the Mountain Chain, from a league to the south of Calca, in the department of Cusco. Wiracocha, the eighth inca, was the one who choose Huchuyqosqo as its place to live. He ordered to build palaces, temples because he felt old and tired. He wished he leaved the government, to quit the work in Cusco and search for some peace and tranquillity in other place so he left Cusco.
We can customize and tailor-make your trip to suit your specific needs and desires – whatever these may be. Our primary concerns are your safety and comfort. All of our packages are built to be as fully inclusive as possible while still giving you the flexibility to spend your vacation time as you wish.
Early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and we will pass through Cachimayo. In Chinchero, we will visit a typical market and an archeological site, before continuing our journey to Tauqaq, a village located on the edge of Piuray Lagoon, where the group will begin the trek. After a short briefing about the route, we will walk until Tauqaq Pass , where we will see a mountain range to the south with the snowy peaks of Ausangate, Veronica, Pitusiray and Sahuasiray. Then we'll descend to our campsite, located just before Huchuyqosqo
After breakfast we will visit Huchuyqosqo, an imposing architectural complex that includes a large open ceremonial center. We will enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River, and the snow capped mountain range of the same name. After a guided tour, we will continue our way to Lamay at 3000 meters elevation. We will take the bus to Ollantaytambo, where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes and a nice hotel.
Early in the morning the group will take the first bus to Machu Picchu, arriving there after 25 minutes. The group will have a guided tour for approximately 2 hours and then free time to enjoy the citadel.
*The places where we’ll set up our camp sites can change depending on the guide.
